Selling Jesus?

Byron Harvey at a ticking time blog writes about "selling Jesus" in exploring the idea of whether or not the church in America is in spiritual decline:
Seems to me that each generation and incarnation of Christianity struggles with its own peccadilloes, its own heresies, its own foibles and faults. That said, and acknowledging that worldwide, Christianity is flourishing, it seems that here in America, we’ve managed to head into a significant decline. I want, over the course of the next few weeks, to discuss several things I’ve been thinking about, to open the field to comments about how we might see our way back to a better place, as well as to suggestions as to other issues that I might miss. I’ll raise the issue briefly, “run ‘er up the flagpole”, so to speak, and see who salutes.
Byron is off to a good start, and he's already begun receiving some thoughtful interaction in the comments section.

I really enjoyed this post Milton, but there is nothing new under the sun, it's the money changers in the temple, all over again!

Money has always been a problem, hasn't it, John?
