Life on the threshold

Craig Williams, with a little help from Wilkie Au and Alan Roxburgh, has begun reflecting on church leadership and liminality (life on the threshold).

His quote of Rohr is great. I sometimes find myself wanting to rush through liminal space in order to reach the destination, even when I don't know what or where the destination is.

I forget that the journey is where we are shaped--where we serve--where we share in the kingdom vision of Jesus.

Come to think of it, all of life is lived in liminal space. Could it be that if we're just pushing through this space, that we're really not living?

Interesting thought. I think you're onto something. As much as this life is in essence liminal, pushing through it is a denial of living, especially when we learn to depend on God precisely at those thresholds. Peace.
