No more scripture-less worship

Paul Lamey makes a strong argument that in our worship services, Christians need to hear the Scripture both preached and read.

I have some definate thoughts on the public reading of the Scriptures. Sunday worship should be one of the places that we get a constant dose of Scripture reading. Hearing various voices recite Scripture is good too. Taking it in in various ways would be good too. Song, responsive reading, dramatic reading, children's Sunday School classes reciting memorized verese, and other ways of intake. Let the Word go forth.

Amen. I'm all for memorizing Scripture. I did precious little of it when I was young, and once one's older, it doesn't stick very well.

Milton, this is just shockingly true. How did we allow this to happen? As usual, you have pointed up to a very helpful and enlightening post.
