Not relevant to that
Mike Murdock writes about the two basic lies that dominate our culture. He also offers this little bit of iconoclasm:
Let me say this as straightforward and concisely as I can – the gospel of Jesus Christ is not relevant to the living of our lives in this world.
Mike's right.

Milton,
The message here is, don't take things out of context.
Good job.

Glad you liked it, Phil, and glad Mike wrote it!
Thanks, Royce.
This is so wrong I'm tempted to call it heretical. The Gospel is all about the coming of the Kingdom of God. The Kindgom of God is "already" in the community of the Church even while it is eschatologically "not yet." What we are about as the Church is participating in the redemption of all of creation, including the cultural and social structures of the world. The Gospel therefore has everything to do with the living of our lives in this world.
Thanks for the input, David. I respect you and your writing, so I read back over Mike's post. I'm afraid I still don't see what's wrong with his position. If you have a few minutes, could you clarify? Peace.
