Staying Christ-centered at Christmas
More advice on how not to preach at Christmas:
The Christmas passages are not about the greatness of Joseph, Mary, the Magi, or Zechariah. The focus is about God. The Christmas story is a pivotal moment within redemptive history. Who would think that God would become one of us in order to save us? That, not the virtues of the other characters, is the main focus of the story.Amen

I guess I struggle because it seems to me that God is more anthropocentric at Christmas. So, if I am gonna be theocentric and exhort the values of learning from God, I end up back at God's love for humanity.
Does that make sense?
