But all I really want . . .

Consumerism may have polluted Generation Y even more deeply than it has their parents.

I have been wanting to do a study on Gen Y for some time. I have corresponded with Leonard Allen about the idea and Carley Dodd of Gospel According to Gen X (1995). I am ready to roll but really need someone who is more up on the literature than I am. I am more of a researcher/statistician than a youth minister/college minister. This is badly needed and I was wondering if you know anyone who might be good with something like that. God bless

The only resource that comes to mind is Chris Altrock, who did his D.Min. dissertation at HUGSR on evangelizing postmoderns. That's not really the same as Gen X or Y, but should be substantial overlap, and I'm sure Chris could direct you to some good generation-specific resources. Chris turned his dissertation into a book, Preaching to Pluralists. Last I looked, Chris was working at Highland Church of Christ in Memphis.

You may already be familiar with Chris's work, and it may not be what you're looking for, but I'm afraid that's about all I have to offer. I'll be interested to see what you come up with. Peace.

By the way, were we in any classes together at HUGSR? I was there 2000-05.

We had some big overlap there at HUGSR. I started in 2002 and graduated this past May. Thanks for the suggestion. I have met Chris and he is a great guy. I have a ton of respect for him and will see if there is any interest there or any other ideas. God bless.
