Faith in our systems?

How do Christians lose their joy and passion for Christ? Jim Martin has some ideas:
We spend our time and energy talking about our systems. "How will we get this done?" "When is the next meeting?" "Are you on the sub-committee?" Blah. Blah. Blah. Meanwhile, we may find that we can be in meetings (teachers, elders, staff, etc.) and talk with others for hours before anyone ever mentions Jesus or asks whether or not he is pleased with what we are about.
Jim's right.

left a comment here as on jim's post...i know who to blame...but, that does not matter. what needs to be done is to plant a water mellon vine on the top of our graves. yes, let the juice run through again. just a little distraction is all it takes for the enemy to win at this, and bam, we are disconnected from the river of life...we dry up. reconnect to the river of life...the Holy Spirit is not dead in us...we have stopped drinking the water. drink the water.

we are distracted simply, we reconnect simply, it is a matter of us deciding to connect. we must decide and do it. most of us do not realize the power of the little distraction here and there. cunning. but, we can be just as cunning in our reconnection...a little bit here and there. :-) encourage this in your daily discussions and meetings...it adds up the other way too...a little bit of reconnect here and there. make it part of our being alive lives again. drink the water....sip, sip.

if we keep taking our hose off of the faucet the plant is not going to live, it will dry up. the water is always there, we just do not stay hooked up. the water of life, the Holy Spirit. we are not to walk in the Spirit only some of the day, pay attention!, we are to walk in the spirit all of the time, wrap your mind arout it! this is important. no awarness of the Spirit in you as you go about your day...no connection to your life...fern in the desert...no water! dry up...dead. dead spiritually, dead, no use to yourself or others. dead. must be seen as important, do not want a bunch of spiritual corpses lying around. love!
