i do not think that the writings that make up the bible can that easily be separated from Jesus or what is referred to here as the gospel. the words are alive through God and the Spirit of God and made through God. the Father , Son and the Holy Spirit are connected with the word and with us. it is all connected...it works together. i am so tired of the desire of humans to put everything neatly in little boxes.

You make a very good point, Nancy. The Apostle John, for example, referred to Jesus himself as The Word. And I agree whole-heartedly about the tiresome tendency of us humans to try to put everything in neat little boxes. Thanks for the comments. Peace.

Really!? The Pentateuch stated that the Messiah would be of the line of David. Mary was not of Nazareth but Joseph was, but that doesn't matter because Mary was virgin and God was the father so... Jesus is bullshit.

TMM: Again, glad to see you're reading this blog. I'm interested in your assertion that Mary was not of David's line. It's my understanding that she was, at least if one accepts the biblical account.

I don't know what kind of understanding you and I could come to on the issue if you don't accept the Bible's veracity, but I'd be happy to continue the discussion.

Also, let's please keep the language here a little more polite. while I have no problem with certain scatological phrases of my Anglo-Saxon forebearers, some of our visitors have more sensitive dispositions. It really has nothing to do with religion--just manners.

Hope to hear from you again. -AMS
