Well, how about I tell you about the purpose as stated in the banner. Several years ago I began this blog to share the wealth of free, online Bible-study and sermon-preparation material I had begun to find and use online for my own sermon preparation. The term "Transforming Sermons" refers to the blog's purpose: helping preachers transform their sermons into sermons that transform those who hear.
What I quickly discovered was that TS appealed at least as much to non-preachers as it did to preachers. Now every day I try to include both something helpful to preachers in particular and something helpful to all Christians in general. The theme in both cases is the same: transformation more and more into the image of Jesus Christ.
As to whether or not my calling is to help preachers, I'm not sure. This blog is more a matter of sharing the wealth. What exactly the future holds for my service in the Kingdom--well, that remains to be seen. I'm not preaching right now, but I still have the fire in the bones to do what I really believe God wants of me. Right now I think I may be being given the gift of a sabbatical, and I'm praying to treasure every day.

i find the use of the word sabbatical interesting.
i curious about the etymology, i was not famaliar with it, or even thought about it before.

Sabbaticals are often taken by professors, pastors, cartoonists (e.g. Gary Larson and Bill Watterson), musicians (e.g. Cindy Wilson, Bobby McFerrin), sportsmen (e.g. Alain Prost) and fund managers (e.g. Geoffrey Brianton).
i bet you did not know you had something in common with gary larson and bobby mcferrin.
