What're your favorite books on preaching?

Mick Porter at Unveiled Face asks fellow bloggers to list their favorite books on preaching and goes on to list his own.

I liked a little book called "Fresh Air From the Pulpit" ... and for some reason the author's name suddenly escapes me. Very well known. His wife writes also.

Koeller's How To Preach Without Notes has some good stuff in it.

I find a lot of 'preaching' books to be from another planet. Perhaps the preacher for the 1000 member church who ONLY has to prepare sermons can do all the stuff these books say MUST be done. The country pastor could not possibly do the laundry list of 45 steps to the sermon that these books suggest.

Cool, J.D. Thanks for sharing a couple of your top picks. And I agree with you about many preaching books. Peace.
