evaluating that generation:
Baby boomers like to trumpet their generation's achievements. But their fondness for conspicuous consumption and foreign travel has led to many a modern-day ill, from rising debt to environmental woes.
The article quotes Joe Queenan, who wrote, "If you want the God's honest truth, baby boomers are the most obnoxious people in the history of the human race."

Great quote from Queenan. I'd have to agree. Whenever I've brought up similar thoughts in conversation I also get, "But what about rock 'n roll, and what about the civil rights movement, etc. But it's hard to avoid the conclusion that ours has been an incrdibly self-regarding and boastful generation.
Yes it has. And to be fair, advances in civil rights were mostly made by the parents of the boomers.
