Many Christians, it seems, hold to the idea that the society around us is somehow "Christian." But since the first sin the world has always been sinful, depraved, and fallen. And it will continue to be so until Christ returns to set all things in order.

The question I have for Christians is this: are we going to simply live like good citizens of the world around us, or are we going to begin seeing ourselves as citizens of an entirely different domain--one in which the rules and expectations are simply different form the world around us.

And yes, our calling is still to bring the grace and love of God to a lost world. While we were yet sinners, Jesus died for us. Christians are called to deny ourselves, take up our crosses, and follow Jesus. So we need to look around us with clear eyes. This is the world we're called to go out into.
