"Destroying imago dei"

"I don't think it's possible to overestimate the sheer depravity of this whole situation" (HT).

well, lets see...they are sinners, and well, i am a sinner.

ok then...hum...i am to love others with the Love of God.

i do not have to judge them.
i do not have to do what they are doing.

what exactly is the question here?

we are living in the last days.
we need to continue to Give the Love of God.

What struck me from reading the article is how very far from God's image for mankind the world around us has fallen. Many Christians, it seems, hold to the idea that the society around us is somehow "Christian." But since the first sin the world has always been sinful, depraved, and fallen. And it will continue to be so until Christ returns to set all things in order.

The question I have for Christians is this: are we going to simply live like good citizens of the world around us, or are we going to begin seeing ourselves as citizens of an entirely different domain--one in which the rules and expectations are simply different form the world around us.

And yes, our calling is still to bring the grace and love of God to a lost world. While we were yet sinners, Jesus died for us. Christians are called to deny ourselves, take up our crosses, and follow Jesus. So we need to look around us with clear eyes. This is the world we're called to go out into.

Thanks for interacting with the post, Nancy, and for prompting me to think more about it myself. Peace.
