have you thought of gathering a flock of lost sheep together?
If I understand what you're asking, I would love do to so--with an eye on introducing them to the Good Shepherd.
i have no specific type of gathering in mind...and i was just curious what you might have thought of it. mainly because it seems that there are so many different ways and opportunities to do this these days.
There are all kinds of online gatherings people are trying: social networking, chat, IM, virtual worlds, and comments-section discussions on weblogs. A lot of these are good things, but I don't think any of them ought to be substitutes for real-life, ftf gatherings of saints to worship.
For me and, I suspect, others, weblogs can foster virtual communities for sharing thoughts and even lives. I try to make TS both a safe place to share ideas with believers from all over the world, and a means of encouraging Christians to deepen fellowship in their own congregations.
Lost sheep could mean a couple of different things: either Christian misfits, or unbelievers. In both my online and real-world life and work, I hope and pray to minister to both groups.
Peace.
i guess i was thinking more along the line of face to face interaction...but, who knows.
i am not sure what you mean by a christian misfit.
and i suppose i should not have limited the gathering quesion to only "lost" sheep.
By Christian misfits I mean Christians who feel lost in the church--not eternally, but simply socially.
Right now I'm in the process of recovering from my last ministry and trying to figure out which direction to go next. I'm happy to not be in leadership right now but simply be another believer in a small, rural congregation.
it will be interestng to maybe see a little bit of which direction the Lord is taking us all through time.
God is using us even now.
i posted a really good link from hennhouse today.
check it out, it is a good one for the heart.
Love to you and your family :-)
Thanks, Nancy. I'll give it a look. Peace.
