Eyes on whom?

At Wilderness Fandango Bob Spencer, with a little help from Mark Galli, looks at the pitfalls of personal testimonies.

Good link, Milton - especially as it went beyond the testimony to the broader subject of evangelical ambition.

Someone recently contrasted doing great things for God with "just doing church." I stuck up for the efficacy of basic church - worship, teaching, service - in the work of transforming people. Prof Hendricks called it "the glory of the grind."

We had better hope (and do, of course) that the long grind in obscurity counts with Jesus, because it sure doesn't in Evangelical World. And I'm hoping for lots of grace for my lack of self-forgetfulness.

And yes, I'm the CB your thinking of, still taking great encouragement in your now ancient characterization in the face of evidence both past and present.

Glad to hear from you, CB. "The glory of the grind"--that sounds exactly right. Thanks for sharing it. I pray you're doing well and are encouraged in the work. Peace.
