Radically transformed by slowing down

Rusty Peterman shows us a picture of how our lives are radically transformed "when Christ really gets a hold." The apostle Paul's life was transformed--not by his drivenness as a persecutor of the Way, but by Jesus breaking into his life. Christians today are blessed by taking time out to spend time with Christ more than by wearing ourselves out going as fast as we can. Here's Rusty:

Every Christian (ministers included, especially included) needs regular time set aside for personal quietness, prayer, confession, reflection, contemplation, and meditation. It’s the way God wired us. And it's the way He gets us ready for what He has in mind.

Amen. Rest and meditation on God's Word is such an important part of life that the Lord instituted a full day each week for Israel to remember the great things God had done for his people. Rusty does a good job describing our need for slowing down, being alone with God, and following where he leads. For a personal account on this same topic, check out what Nathan Colquhoun has to say.
